Timcraft is a furniture brand founded in 2025 and based in Ho Chi Minh City. The brand embraces minimalism as its guiding philosophy, applying it to both form and function. Timcraft’s products are positioned as a fusion of sustainable architectural materials, creative influences from fashion, heritage craftsmanship, and the precision of modern manufacturing. Each piece is conceived as a work of art — celebrating the artistry of form, material, craftsmanship, and the beauty of simplicity.

Practice Approach

Chair Number 9 is part of a furniture set named “Number 9,” a name derived from the nine components that form both the table and the chair. It is described as a true name, one that feels natural, unforced and inseparable from the design itself. The design of Chair Number 9 is grounded in the idea of giving space back through voids, volumes and a coherent and intuitive structure. It is compact in size with a low center of gravity. When not in use, Chair Number 9 is meant to serve the space in which it exists. When in use, it is said to blur the boundaries between the sitter and the surrounding environment as well as between people. Every element serving form, function and structure is distilled to its essentials. Technical details that demand high craftsmanship such as mortise and tenon joints and angled or twisted braces are executed with subtlety and kept discreet, hidden within the structure. Through this, Chair Number 9 expresses the emotion Timcraft strives for: simplicity at its finest.

Design Intent

Timcraft highlights two key points when speaking about the Number 9 furniture set. In terms of design, both the table and the chair are created with the idea of giving space back. This is expressed through clear, comprehensible forms and through voids that emerge naturally from the structure and function themselves, in a way that feels effortless and comfortable. In terms of craftsmanship, the entire set is made completely by hand, yet the techniques are subtly embedded within the details, appearing only where the touch of a skilled craftsperson is truly needed rather than being displayed for show. Together, these two elements represent the guiding principles and philosophies that Timcraft is committed to pursuing.
